While this game was not a complete loss I found myself
having a difficult time getting sucked into it. The story was OK at the best. The main
character Rush Sykes is rather annoying. The game starts out with Rush and his sister
Irina hanging out in a field when she gets kidnapped by some old guy on a flying remnant.
You then go out looking for her only to get attacked by some monsters, but you are saved
by a female warrior named Emma Honeywell. Quiet and inexhorbitantly stubborn she takes
to king David. Some young king of a small providence. From there you go about collecting
various soldiers to fight with you in battle.
On to the battle system... oh the battle system. It takes a
little while to get used to. It is a combination of turne-based combat and strategy. After
you get used to it and win a few battles it becomes more interesting. However there is always
thig lag. Always. I even tries installing the disc onto my 360's HDD. No go. It helps a little,
but it is hardly noticable.
After hours of repetitive dialogue, a predictive story line, and
a laggy battle system I gave up. Maybe if I had gone all the way through it would have become
more interesting, but honestly, it wasn't very motivating. For the die-hard JRPG fan out there:
go for it. Otherwise there are a lot more titles that have come out recently that are much more
interesting.
